The Real Madrid Methodology

The Real Madrid methodology is focused on three main fundamental pillars, THE PLAYER, THE GAME and THE MINDSET.

FUNDAMENTAL PILLARS

Within these three fundamental pillars we contemplate and develop our methodology, based on 6 key areas:

  • Physical

  • Technical

  • Tactical

  • Mental

  • Competition

  • Real Madrid Foundation values

For all age groups from 6 to 17 years, we have established an annual curriculum with defined learning phases to ensure consistent development throughout their time in our Football Programme.

HOW WE IMPLEMENT THIS METHODOLOGY

The annual curriculum is broken down into sessions, ensuring each session has a set of goals in all or some of the key areas.

The curriculum is designed and overseen by the Technical Director, with the coach playing a central role in carrying out exercises aligned with the established goals. Our methodology is carefully tailored to the players’ age, emphasising technical skills for younger players. As they progress, we gradually incorporate tactical elements, followed by fostering a competitive mindset.

Throughout every stage, we prioritise the development of skills, physical performance, and overall conditioning. From the very first day, we strive to instil core values, creating an environment where every child feels supported in their personal growth.

TEAM TRAINING SESSION’S METHODOLOGY

All players participating in our Academy training sessions are taught using a curriculum grounded in the core principles of our development methodology.

When designing and organising training sessions, we prioritise continuity and focused attention. Our approach adapts to each developmental stage, aligns with our style of play, and remains faithful to our methodology.

The ball is integral to every session, and through our technical-tactical routines, we cultivate the unique identity that defines our Academy.
